Wellington Place at 2479 River Road in Decorah is announcing that it will soon begin construction on phase two of its $4 million-dollar building project.
A 12-unit Assisted Living Memory Care facility will be built with home-like living areas, lots of natural lighting, and dementia-specific activities. Residents will be able to bring personal furnishings from home, making it familiar and comforting. Nursing personnel and caregivers will have special training in Alzheimer's and dementia-related care.
Said Wellington Place Administrator Scott Marnin, "A feasibility study was conducted by an independent group that confirmed our assumptions that there's an overwhelming need for Assisted Living Memory Care in this immediate area."
The general contractor for this project is David Finholt Construction. Local subcontractors will be Skyline Construction, Wicks Construction, See Electric, Continental Fire Sprinkler Company, and Casper Plumbing and Heating.
Wellington Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Campus is locally owned and overseen by a local board of directors. For more information, call Scott Marnin or Amy Loera at 563-382-9691.
