Hy-Vee has begun moving forward on its new Decorah store

Work has begun on the new Hy-Vee store in Decorah.

Crews have begun demolishing the interior of the former Quillin's food store in the Centrum Plaza. 

In addition, the company has successfully applied for and been granted a cigarette license and beer and wine licenses, including Sunday sales.

An earlier statement from Hy-Vee said that the new store would open some time in 2020.
