City Yard Waste Site has reopened

Leaves cannot be left in gutters during the spring

The City of Decorah's Yard Waste Site on Trout Run Road will be open seven days a week during daylight hours until further notice.

City of Decorah staffers are reminding the public that leaves cannot be deposited in city streets or alleys in the spring.

A news release from the city's Street Department says, "It is important to keep the streets and gutters clear of leaves. Leaves, debris, and other yard waste like grass clippings can clog up storm sewer intakes and pipes which can lead to localized flooding."
