Engineering work is beginning for the Pole Line Road Bridge

The planning for a new Pole Line Road Bridge is getting underway.

The Decorah City Council has approved the bid of Erdman Engineering and WHKS Consultants to do design work on the Pole Line Road Bridge Replacement Project. The project is expected to cost $800,000 for construction and $200,000 for design, administration and soils and geo testing.

The Iowa Department of Transportation has awarded an 80/20 matching grant for the project, with the state paying $800,000 and the city paying $200,000. 

The services approved by the Decorah City Council will have a price tag of $26,000.  Money to pay that cost will come from the City's Local Option Sales Tax fund.
