Decorah schools will offer grab and go pickups with food for breakfasts and lunches

The Decorah Community School District on Friday will begin offering grab and go lunches and breakfasts.

In an e-mail sent to parents, School Superintendent Mark Lane said, "Due to the National Emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic, Decorah Community School District is able to offer families access to free school breakfast and lunch food supplies."

Grab & Go pickups will begin Friday at the three locations from noon until 2:00 p.m.  Deliveries will continue in the same three locations, each Friday throughout the duration of the emergency closure.  Food pickup locations are at door 25 of the Decorah High School (West side of the building in the back of the band parking lot); the Freeport Park Shelter; and the North Winneshiek front parking lot.

The food is intended to be a one week's supply for breakfastes and lunches.  Any child attending class in is Decorah could be eligible--parents or guardians will be asked to follow instructions included in the e-mail sent to all Decorah Community School District patrons.
