Decorah City Council approves a 2020-2021 city budget

The City of Decorah's property tax rate will decrease by one cent for the next fiscal year.

City council members Monday night unanimously approved a 2020-2021 budget which calls for a tax levy of $14.19 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.  That's one cent less than this year's rate of $14.20 per thousand.

Additionally, property valuations within the City of Decorah have decreased by 1.58 percent, or $5,724,220.
