Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds calls on all Iowa school districts to close for 4 weeks in response to the coronavirus outbreak

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is recommending all PK-12 school districts close, effective immediately, in the wake of new coronavirus cases.

She announced the recommendation at a news conference Sunday night.  The news conference was held after four new coronavirus cases were announced, including two in Allamakee County--one involving a middle-aged adult between 41-years old to 60-years old, the other involving a child younger than 19 years old.

In the wake of the news, the Decorah Community School District has sent out what it has described as "an emergency announcement" saying "Decorah Schools will be closed beginning (Monday) and for at least the next four weeks."

School officials will meet Monday and release further details following their meeting.
