Public Health staffers say there are currently no reported cases of coronavirus in the area.  The known coronavirus presumptive positive cases in Iowa are related to travel. There has not been any report of community spread. There have not been any recommendations to start cancellation of events within our community as of now.

In the event of community spread to Northeast Iowa, the Iowa Department of Public Health will work with Winneshiek County Public Health and other local public health departments, making recommendations regarding the need for social distancing and cancellation of events.

Persons still need to be aware and practice healthy habits by staying home if ill, covering your cough and sneeze, and of upmost importance is good handwashing.

For more information about the coronavirus, call the Iowa Department of Public Health at 2-1-1 or contact your local public health offices. Additional resources are also available at https://www.cdc.gov and https://www.idph.gov
