The Board of Trustees of Winneshiek Medical Center Wednesday evening approved a 2020-2021 budget which calls for revenues of $137 million--a 9.9 percent increase from this fiscal year.
The medical center says it will increase the prices it charges by an average of three percent, but most of the $15 million increase in patient revenues will be due to higher volumes of services, not higher prices. That will include a projected 10 percent increase in visits to the Decorah Clinic.
Expenses at the medical center are predicted to increase by 6.9 percent next fiscal year, although the costs of prescriptions and other pharmaceuticals is expected to increase just three percent.
After paying expenses, Winneshiek Medical Center is projected to have a $1.3 million operating gain in 2020-2021 and a $2.6 million gain after adding non operating revenues.
