Ten-year prison term handed down to a Decorah resident

One of four people arrested in December in connection with a disturbance involving weapons at 2700 College Drive in Decorah has now been sentenced on four criminal charges.

18-year-old David Harn of 2700 College Drive originally was charged with one count of Assault Causing Bodily Injury and one count of 5th Degree Theft.  On Tuesday Harn entered a guilty plea to four charges: First Offense Second Degree Robbery; Robbery in the Second Degree; Possession of Marijuana and Keeping premises for Drugs.

He was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison on the two robbery charges; up to 180 days in prison on the possession of marijuana charges and up to two years in prison on the keeping premises for drugs charge.  The sentences will run concurrently.  Harn will have to serve at least seven years in prison before being eligible for parole.

Three other people arrested at the same time as Harn still have trials pending: 19-year-old Brandon McEndree of 605 College Drive faces two counts of Assault Causing Bodily Injury.  18-year-old Jordan Sullivan of 2700 College Drive faces one count of Assault Causing Bodily Injury and one count of 4th Degree Criminal Mischief.  21-year-old David Brewer III faces one count of 4th Degree Criminal Mischief and one count of 5th Degree Theft.
