Decorah High School National Honor Society inducts new members

The Decorah High School National Honor Society will induct 57 new members during its annual ceremony on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

This year's program will include speeches by Katie Valkosky, Tucker Young, Madeline Putnam, and Audrey Casterton. Several student musicians from band, choir, and orchestra will also be featured.

In order to be inducted into National Honor Society, a student must have maintained a 3.5 grade point average and have been selected by a committee of faculty on the basis of leadership, scholarship, character, and service to others.

The new National Honor Society senior inductees for this year are Emma Brauer and Kaj Spencer-Berg.

The public is invited to the induction ceremony and to the reception in the high school cafeteria following the ceremony. Carrie Kauffman and Kathryn Thompson are the faculty advisors of the National Honor Society at the Decorah High School.
