Site work has begun on the proposed new Decorah Kwik Star

Crews have begun clearing the way for a new Kwik Star store on Montgomery Street on property which formerly housed Viking Express.

Kwik Trip has gotten approval for a new building which would be just under 7,300 square feet in space and would have much more produce and fresh meat for sale than at the Short Street Kwik Trip.

Plans call for construction of the building to start later this year.  The site plan approved by the City of Decorah calls for a building along the lines of similar Kwik Trip stores in Chatfield and Caledonia.
