Dr. Jill Biden, who has been married to former Vice President Joe Biden for 42 years, made a campaign stop in Decorah Wednesday morning to speak to a crowd of supporters about the man she knows so well.
Jill Jacobs Biden married Joe Biden in 1977. She has master's degrees from Villanova University and West Chester University and a bachelor's degree and doctoral degree from the University of Delaware. She is now an English professor at Northern Virginia Community College.
Wednesday morning in Decorah, Biden told the audience at the Biden for President office on Water Street that there are three main reasons her husband would make a good president: He appeals to independent voters; he beats President Donald Trump in swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and Florida; and his proposals are achievable and would not add to the federal debt.
"I've been inspired by his optimism and resilience," she told the crowd. She also said she's been struck by his energy and passion in his campaign for President, adding, "He's out there every day on the campaign trail."
