"Babytime" will start next month at the Decorah Public Library

Posted: Sun, Jan 19, 2020 3:12 PM

Decorah Public Library is adding a program aimed at babies.

Babies from birth to 24 months and their caregivers will have their own storytime, "Baby Time."

"The research is clear that talking, singing, reading, writing, drawing and playing during early childhood have a profound influence on children's learning," says Children's and Young Adult Librarian Rachael Button.

Decorah Public Library's Baby Time will consist not only of reading aloud but also of lap bounces, songs, facilitated activities for caregivers and babies, and time afterwards for caregivers and babies to play or read together.  Expectant parents are also welcome at this event.

Baby Time begins February 7th and will continue on Friday mornings from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Baby Time will be free, open to the public, and requiring no registration.  Questions can be directed to Children's Librarian Rachael Button at 563-382-3717.
