Decorah city council members are split on whether they should be allowed to attend meetings by video conference

The Decorah City Council cannot agree yet on whether to allow members to video conference city council meetings when they're out of town.

5th Ward city council member Johanna Bergen told her fellow council members, "I know there are a few times I will miss a meeting (otherwise)."
 
But at-large city council member Kirk Johnson and 1st Ward city council member Randy Schissel both say they are opposed to the change.  Said Schissel, "You're elected to be here."

The issue will be discussed again at a future city council meeting.
