New name for "Winneshiek County Development"

Winneshiek County Development is getting a new name: "Winneshiek County Development and Tourism."

WCDI Executive Director Stephanie Fromm says, "Winneshiek County Development, Inc. acquired Winneshiek County Convention and Visitors Bureau in 2018…our (new) name better reflects all that we work to achieve on behalf of our shareholders."

The organization has hired Lora Friest as a Project Coordinator.  Friest retired from her full-time job last October, but says, "when this opportunity to help with projects in Winneshiek County came open, I couldn't pass it up."  She added, "for the first time in a long time, I'll be able to put my energy into projects that are close to home."
