Hy-Vee still plans to open a store in Decorah this year

There has been NO decision to scrap plans for a Hy-Vee store in Decorah.

The company announced last year that it had reached an agreement to remodel the former Quillin's building in the Centrum Plaza.  Hy-Vee won the necessary approvals from the City of Decorah for the project and announced that construction would begin "in late fall."

That construction hasn't happened yet.  But a spokesperson for Hy-Vee says that doesn't mean the company has dropped its plans for a store in Decorah.  A statement released by the spokesperson says, "While we don't have a construction timeline to share right now, we are still slated for a 2020 opening."
