Decorah Police release a photo of the semi they believe knocked over a traffic signal

The Decorah Police Department has released a photo showing what it believes is the vehicle which knocked down a traffic signal in downtown Decorah recently--but didn't stop.

As decorahnews.com reported earlier (http://www.decorahnews.com/news-stories/2020/01/24160.html), it costs the City of Decorah between $5,000 to $8,000 each time it has to repair a damaged traffic light.  The city files claims against the owner of any semi which police are able to determine the company which owns the semi, but in this case, police say the driver did not stop and the lettering was too blurry on the side of the semi to get information in that manner.

Now police are asking the public for help.  The Decorah Police Department's Facebook page says, "This semi truck and trailer hit and demolished a traffic signal at the corner of Water and Mechanic Street on Friday morning at about 9:25 a.m. We were unable to read the lettering on the truck cab. The driver did not stop or report the incident. We are looking for any information on the truck."
