Two new police officers have been sworn in

The Decorah Police Department is now back to being at full staff for officers.

The two newest police officers--Dustin Van Gundy and Adam Ytzen--were sworn into office at Monday night's Decorah City council meeting as their families watched.

There had been vacancies in the police department due to retirements and promotions, but Monday night's ceremony means the department is now at full staff--and is even prepared with a replacement when another officer retires early this spring.
