Posted: Tues, Jan 7, 2020 1:31 PM

Plans for the Locust Road Improvement Project have been posted on the Iowa Department of Transportation website

The first "check-plans" for Decorah's 2020 Locust Road Improvement Project have been posted to the Iowa DOT website.  The plans--which are provided for information and comments only and are subject to change--are available at: https://iowadot.gov/contracts#notices (Note: the file is 133 pages long and takes long to download)

The Decorah City Council's Street Committee will meet next Monday, January 13th, to do a plan review with McClure Engineering.  There will be an open house and "public review" of final plans, but no public hearing is scheduled and the Decorah City Council will not meet until January 22nd--one day after final plans are due to the Iowa DOT.

The Decorah City Council will take up the Locust Road Improvement Project on April 20th, when it will be asked to approve a resolution for a public hearing on May 4th.  Bids on the project will be opened by the Iowa DOT on April 21st.  The May 4th public hearing will be followed by a vote by city council memebers on whether to award work to low bidder.
