On Friday Decorah Police were called to Walmart on a report of shoplifting that had occurred.
Walmart reported an individual, later identified as 36-year-old Suzann Halla of Preston, Minnesota, attempted to leave the store with a cart filled with $776.74 worth of merchandise that had not been paid for. Halla was stopped by a Walmart employee near the store exit. Halla left the cart and fled from the scene but was later found and arrested.
Halla is charged with 3rd degree theft, aggravated misdemeanor.
The police department was assisted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office.
