What a wet 2019 it was in Decorah!

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz has crunched the numbers for weather statistics in Decorah in 2019 and has statistical proof of what we know to be the case: It was a wet year in Decorah in 2019.
Bernatz says Decorah received 46.79 inches of precipitation in Decorah, making 2019 the 5th wettest year on record. The 46.79 inches of rain and snow fell short of the all-time record of 57.58 inches of precipitation in 2016, but 2019 joins three other years in the past eight years as being on the list of top ten wettest years in Decorah.
Ten out of the 12 months in 2019 had above average precipitation, with February, May and October ranking in the top ten of those months for precipitation.
Overall, precipitation in Decorah in 2019 was 13.46 inches higher than the average amount of 33.32 inches of precipitation.
