With Christmas over now, here are some tips on how to dig out from the holiday

Christmas has come and gone, so for many people it's the clean-up that has their attention now.

Instead of throwing away all those Christmas wrappings and bows, etc., now is a good time to save the ribbons, bows, boxes and bags for the next holiday.

Believe it or not, despite Christmas paper being typically made of paper, most of the time you can't actually recycle it. Wrapping paper is not recyclable. The plastic coating and glitter make it unrecyclable. It needs to be thrown in the trash. Holiday cards with plastic or glitter on them are not recyclable either.

When you're going through those presents, make sure you take out all the styrofoam and any plastic so that the cardboard recycling is only cardboard and not other materials.
