Decorah Police Department will soon be back to full staffing

The Decorah Police Department is in the process of hiring three people who will serve as police officers.  The vacancies on the police force were created through promotions and retirements.

Two new officers will join the department in the next week or two.  One new officer has already begun his job.  Nicholas Yaneff is going through training this week, including being brought up to date on the department's policies.  Yaneff comes to the police department from a job at the Eagle Learning Center in Lanesboro.

After spending several weeks in Decorah, riding along with officers, Yaneff will go to the Police Academy on January 2nd and study there until he becomes a certified law enforcement officer.
