Feature story: Toys Go 'Round is right at home on Winnebago Street

Toys Go 'Round, Decorah's unique toy-lending library, is enjoying its new home on Winnebago Street. They moved into part of Sims TV and Electronics in July, but since Sims closed at the end of October, TGR is now the only tenant in the retail space.

TGR president Ana Olson-Johnson says TGR hasn't made any significant changes to their space since Sims closed, but they are enjoying being able to utilize both storefront windows to display their inventory. "We are very pleased with the space we are in and hope to remain in the Sims building for as long as possible. Jim Sims has been very supportive of our mission and our continued use of the space. We are thankful for the increased visibility our current location grants us," says Olson-Johnson. "We are pleased to be part of the downtown business community. We have joined the Decorah Chamber of Commerce and are working to make use of the business planning resources available to us as part of our membership."

A membership to TGR is a great gift idea. A  one year membership is $50 and a three month membership is $30. Membership allows you to check out any of the toys in the TGR collection for 3 weeks at a time.  If a three month membership is converted to a yearlong membership within one month of its expiration, the cost of the three month membership may be applied to a full year membership fee.

TGR is thankful for the support they have received in Decorah. Magpie Cafe and Coffeehouse is donating a portion of Friday's sales to Toys Go 'Round.
