Decorah man arrested following Fayette County accident

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says 51-year-old Robert Joseph Hemesath of Decorah has been charged with First Offense Drunk Driving following a traffic accident around 12:45 Sunday morning on Great River Road, seven miles north of West Union.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene and discovered Hemesath's truck in the ditch. Hemesath was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor) and was taken to the Fayette County Jail, where he awaits an initial court appearance.
Hemesath's truck had $1,500 in damages. No injuries were reported in the accident.
