Fund drive started for Iowa State Patrol trooper who lives in Winneshiek County

Iowa State Trooper Jared Rude, who lives in Winneshiek County, has suffered a traumatic head injury from a fall at his home.

He was airlifted to La Crosse over the weekend. He is currently unresponsive in the ICU and Gundersen Medical Center.

Jared and his wife Amanda and their two daughters live in Winneshiek County. He is the son of Gregg and Kari Rude. Gregg is a former Iowa State Trooper and is now a deputy for the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office.
