Accident causes $23,000 of damage

Two vehicles were involved in an accident near Frankville on Monday afternoon.

51-year-old Eric Kirkeby of Waukon was traveling west on Highway 9 when he lost control on the ice covered road.  41-year-old Dustin West of Monona was traveling east on Highway 9 when he observed Kirkeby swerving out of control heading into his lane. West tried to avoid Kirkeby but was unsuccessful. Kirkeby struck West.

No ambulance transport was needed. Kirkeby was cited for failure to maintain control. The accident caused $23,000 of damage.
