A scheduled pretrial hearing for an Allamakee County resident accused of making threatening phone calls to Winneshiek Medical Center last November has been cancelled because the defendant is submitting a written guilty plea.

58-year-old William Harrison Junior is charged with Felony Threat of Terrorism and two counts of Aggravated Misdemeanor Harassment.

Phone calls received last November by Winneshiek Medical Center staffers included multiple acts of violence directed to the Winneshiek Medical Center and staff, according to Decorah Police. The Decorah Police Department and Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office began a joint investigation with the assistance of the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office which led to a search warrant being served to Harrison at his home in rural Allamakee County.

Harrison had been scheduled to attend a pretrial hearing earlier this week in Decorah, but that hearing was cancelled because Harrison said he would submit a written plea of guilty.
