Decorah Police respond to two traffic accidents

Decorah Police responded to two traffic accidents recently--one Monday night and another Tuesday morning.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, police were called to Short Street. 18-year-old Cassidy Young of Ossian turned left onto Highway 9 from Short Street, striking an SUV driven by 45-year-old Lowell Fenton of La Porte City.
Neither driver was injured. Young was ticketed for Failure to Yield the Right of Way, while Fenton was ticketed for Failure to Have Insurance.
Tuesday shortly before 8:00 a.m., 32-year-old Zach Maxon of Decorah drove through a red traffic light from Broadway to Mechanic Street and was hit by a car driven by 24-year-old Chelcie Busch of Decorah. The accident did $5,500 in damages. Maxon was ticketed for Failure to Obey a Traffic Light.
