Bruening Addition sidewalk plan is being modified, based on property owner input

Part of the plan for installing sidewalks in the general area of the Bruening Addition is being modified, based on comments received from property owners in the area.

City of Decorah officials had proposed sidewalks along Linden Street--an idea which received stiff opposition from property owners, who said the grade of Linden Street didn't make the idea pratical.

A tentative plan unveiled Monday night would drop plans for sidewalks on Linden and instead improve crosswalks at three intersections on Park Street--at Linden, at Walnut and at Pearl.

Members of the city's Streets Committee like the idea, so the proposal is likely to move forward.
