Decorah woman jailed for domestic assault assaults a jailer

The Decorah Police were called to investigate a disturbance at 812 River Street at 2:45 a.m. on Saturday. During the investigation it was discovered 28-year-old Celeste Holtz of Decorah had allegedly struck Nicolas Smith under the eye with a laminated stick. Evidence was found to support this allegation and Holtz was subsequently arrested for domestic assault and was incarcerated.

Later on Saturday, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office reports Holtz intentionally assaulted jail staff  while incarcerated in the Winneshiek County Jail on Saturday. Holtz was cited with serious misdemeanor assault on a jailer.
