November continued the trend of cooler and wetter months in Decorah

Decorah weather statistician Richard Bernatz says November was much like October and many other months in 2019--cooler and wetter.

Bernatz has released weather statistics for the month of November.  They show that the daily average temperature in Decorah in November was 32.76 degrees.  That's 2.34 degrees cooler than the historical average for the 127 years for which temperature records have been kept in Decorah.

Interestingly, daily lows in Decorah were about typical for the month, but daily high temperatures averaged four-and-a-half degrees cooler than average highs.

For the last 12 months, Decorah has a surplus of precipitation amounting to 14.36 inches.  10 of the last 12 months have been wetter than average, with four of the last ten months placing in the top ten wettest for those months.

2.52 inches of precipitation fell in November in Decorah, including four days with a total of seven-and-a-half inches of snow.  32 Novembers have been wetter, but 94 Novembers have been drier during the time for which records have been kept.
