Members of the Northeast Iowa Citizens Climate Lobby have returned from a trip to the Capitol to speak to members of Congress about pending climate change legislation.

Leslie Sand of Decorah and Amy Bouska and Lou Ann Hall from Cresco lobbied to build support in Congress for a national solution to climate change.

NE Iowa Citizens Climate Lobby now has 80 members. It focuses on national policies to address climate change.

The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act HR 763 will help reduce carbon emissions by 40 percent by 2030. 73 members of Congress now support this bill. "Any organization interested in having a CCL member speak to your group about climate change, please contact us at neiaclimate@gmail.com," Sand said.
