15 members of the Decorah FFA have returned from the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis.
Decorah FFA members enjoyed three days filled with leadership sessions and FFA business, all while learning lifelong skills and meeting FFA members like them from all over the nation. The Decorah HS students also visited Beck's Hybrid Seeds, Indy Car Factory, Apache Sprayers, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, and Fair Oaks Farms.
During the National FFA Convention, the Decorah FFA was recognized as a two-star chapter for the National Chapter Award program, a contest designed to evaluate a chapter based on its members' ability to plan activities and carry them out with a successful Program of Activities. Chapters are recognized for outstanding achievement in the areas of Student Development, Chapter Development, and Community Development based on a three-star rating, with three being the top level. The Decorah FFA advanced to the National FFA Chapter Award contest after placing fifteenth in the state.
Decorah FFA members who attended the convention were Lexi Averhoff, Karter Einck, Keagen Einck, Kaia Franzen, Grace Gerleman, Garrett Lovstuen, Morgan Moen, Ashley Nierling, Justin Redenius, Libby Rolfs, Steven Sexton, Gavin Sims, Shayla Smith, Sage Wedmann, and Alex Zweibohmer.
