Enrollment is down this year in the first year of the combined Decorah and North Winneshiek school districts

Certified enrollment figures have been released for the first year the Decorah School district is operating as a combination of the Decorah School District and the former North Winneshiek School district.

Last year the Decorah School District had a certified enrollment of 1,361.1 students and served a total of 1,692.2 students. North Winneshiek had a certified enrollment of 265 students and served 73.

The October 2019 certified enrollment for the combined district shows 1,606.7 students and a total of 1,734.5 students served. That's a drop of 19.4 students for certified enrollment and 30.7 students served.
