Holiday decorations have gone up in Decorah

Christmas is just a little more than five weeks away.  So downtown Decorah is getting ready for the holiday by putting decorations on lampposts downtown and on College Drive.

Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kristina Wiltgen says there are 27 light poles on Water Street and 14 on College Drive which have gotten the decorations.  The Chamber of Commerce owns, stores and maintains the decorations. They were purchased last year, using private donations and funds from the Self Supporting Municipal Improvement District which includes downtown and West Side.

The Decorah Street Department puts up the decorations every year.  Dallas Brusse from Two Guys A Fixin' helps take care of timers and other issues.
