Accident Monday night leads to a ticket

Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies were called to County Road B16 in Calmar Township shortly after 6:00 Monday night.

20-year-old Leo Herold of Fort Atkinson was driving east on the road and made a left turn in front of a car driven by 39-year-old Matthew Schutte of Spillvile, striking Schutte's vehicle.

The accident caused a total of $14,000 in damages. Neither driver was injured. Herold was issued a ticket for Failure to Yield upon a Left Turn.
