Decorah City Council unanimously approves first reading of an ordinance banning roosters

On a 7-0 vote, the Decorah City Council has approved a first reading of an ordinance which would ban the possession of roosters within the city limits.

Approvals of second and third readings will be required before the ordinance goes into effect.  The rooster ban would be added to the City Code as a new ordinance if the measure is approved.
