The Decorah Police Department is moving closer to filling three openings

Three openings on the Decorah Police Department are moving closer to being filled.

Decorah Police Chief Dave Smutzler says job offers will be made later this week to two candidates for police officer openings on the department.  A total of four applicants for the positions have been certified for the job.  Smutzler says he's hoping to have the new officers on the job soon.

Meanwhile, a third opening in the department is closer to being filled, with four individuals interviewed for a dispatch center opening.  As with the two police officer openings, this opening should also be filled soon.
