October in Decorah was cool and wet

Decorah meteorologist Richard Bernatz is confirming what most Decorah residents suspected--the month of October was cool and wet in Decorah.
Bernatz has crunched the numbers and says the average temperature in Decorah in October was 48.3 degrees, which was two degrees below the 126-year average. Interestingly, the average daily low was right at the historical average, but the average daily high temperature was 3.9 degrees below average.
Compared with this October, 91 other Octobers in Decorah were warmer and just 34 were cooler.
Decorah recorded 5.13 inches of precipitation in October. That was 2.8 inches more than the average. There was measurable precipitation on 11 out of October's 31 days. For the past 12 months, Decorah is more than 14 inches of precipitation wetter than normal.
