After the prosecution calls two medical witnesses to the stand on Thursday morning in the Dalton Adam murder trial taking place in New Hampton, it will be the defense attorneys' turn to call witnesses to the stand.
In opening arguments Wednesday, the defense laid out its case, saying Adam was acting in self defense on the night of July 12th, 2018, when David Hansen suffered injuries which would later claim his life. Adam's attorneys said when Adam and Jacob Seelinger visited the house on Old Stage Road where Hansen was staying with Seelinger's mother, Hansen taunted Jacob, saying, "Come and get your butt kicked." They further claimed Hansen was the one to take the first swing at Adam. When Adam punched back, they say Hansen fell to the concrete and cracked his head.
Defense attorneys also say they will call a psychologist to the stand on Thursday to testify to why Adam kept hitting and kicking Hansen after Hansen fell to the concrete.
