Survey work on Locust Road will resume Monday

Survey work for the Locust Road Improvement Project will resume on Monday.

City of Decorah staffers says motorists should expect delays on Locust Road between College Drive and Highland Drive.  The road will be temporarily closed between College Drive and Shady Lane for one day later in the week. Additional notice will be provided when this closure will occur.

The Decorah City Council has agreed to pay Terracon Consultants up to $35,350 for additional soil borings on Locust Road.  The work is expected to provide "a more in-depth analysis" of the Locust Road roadbed.  A representative of McClure Engineering says the soil borings would go as deep as 15 feet.

The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
