Regional law enforcement officers have taken part in a five-day active threat training. 14 law enforcement officers, including Winneshiek County Deputies Byron Hook and Lt. Steve Nesvik, attended the training at the North Winneshiek School.
Utilizing the train-the-trainer model, the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) curriculum has been adopted by numerous states and agencies as their standard active threat training.
