New Children's and Young Adult Librarian hired by the Decorah Public Library

Rachael Shay Button has been hired as the new Children's and Young Adult Librarian at the Decorah Public Library.

Button has been working with children and youth for more than a decade.  She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Environment from Iowa State University.  She has taught subjects in multiple disciplines to students ranging from first grade through undergraduates. She's been a writer, a teacher, an adjunct professor, a Dean of Students, a Crystal Creek citizen artist, a naturalist, a farm hand, a wilderness trip leader, a marketing coordinator, and a high school cross country coach (among other things).

"Rachael brings a wealth of experience in education, programming, and community outreach to her new role," stated Library Director Kristin Torresdal.
