Walk-in flu shots are available at Winneshiek County Public Health

Winneshiek County Public Health is still accepting walk-ins for flu vaccinations at the Winneshiek County Public Health office at 305 Montgomery Street in Decorah.

The flu shots are available any weekday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  The cost of the vaccine is $30.  Everyone 6 months old and older can receive the flu shots.  It takes two weeks to be fully covered against the influenza with the vaccination, so health workers are urging the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

The Public Health Office has an ample supply of the regular four-strain vaccine.  However, there is a limited amount of high dose flu vaccine, due to manufacturer and shipping delays.  A shipment is expected in two to three weeks.
