Certified therapy dogs will be at the Decorah Public Library Tuesday night as the library resumes its Dog Tales program.
Children ages 5-12 who are reading independently may come to the library from 6:30 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. this Tuesday and on October 29th, November 5th, November 26th, December 17th to read a story or two to a dog.
Research has shown that reading aloud to dogs is beneficial to children because the presence of a dog creates an environment that is relaxed and nonjudgmental.
For additional information about the Dog Tales program, please contact Kristin Torresdal or Joan Roach at the library (382-3717). Registration is not required to participate.
