Construction zone accident causes $3,000 in damages

Decorah Police officers were called to Leif Erickson Drive around 10:00 Friday morning.

27-year-old Nahaylem Ellis of Decorah pulled into a construction area which was marked "road closed ahead."  He stopped and backed up, but struck a parked car belonging to 62-year-old John Linnell of Viroqua, Wisconsin.

Ellis was not injured.  No tickets were issued.
