Count Day: How Student Enrollment Drives Finances

Iowa Code requires school districts to count the number of enrolled students on October 1st. Decorah Community School District superintendent Mark Lane remarked, "This is an important day in the annual budgeting cycle of Iowa public schools." The enrollment number will be certified two weeks later on October 15th.
