Grant will help pay for survey of stone structures in Winneshiek County

Winneshiek County Development, Inc. is awarding a $1,000 grant to the Winneshiek County Historic Preservation Commission for a reconnaissance survey of stone structures in the county.

The survey report will be prepared listing the historic names of these properties, locations, dates of construction, dates of occupation and other relevant historical Information.  The grant funds will assist the commission in hiring a historical consultant to assist with completing the estimated 15 to 20 Iowa Site Inventory Forms for properties that are or may be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
